Fall 2002 Hair Report

Introduction

With the arrival of fall this year comes many glamorous new hair trends. Straight off the runways, Fall 2002s look is much more subdued than spring's extreme, bright hair colors. This Fall is all about beautiful, rich, gorgeous color. Clairol Professional offers you a sneak peek at what's bound to be hot when the temperature drops.

Andre Viveiros, colorist at Julien Farel Salon and spokesperson for Clairol Professional, highlights some of the trends in hair color seen during Fashion Week.

Chic Meets Grunge:

"Glamour for Fall 2002 is all about chic grunge," says Andre. Cuts and colors are clean yet edgy, turning neat bobs and shoulder length hair into fashionable, modern styles.

This look was especially visible at the Oscar de la Renta and Miu Miu shows where hair was tidy, but not perfect, creating a look that was new and fresh.

Natural Rich color:

This fall, color has gone back to its roots. Michael Kors and Sonia Rykiel's runways were filled with models baring hair close to their natural colors such as warm chestnut browns, rich minky chocolates and luxurious Irish setter redheads while Gianfranco Ferre showcased beautiful tow head blondes.

Classic Highlights:

Soft highlights are seen in all hair colors. Tonal weaving is the preferred method being used to get the natural look evident at the Vivian Tam show. At Blumarine, models strutted their stuff with highlighted heads that were only a few shades above their natural color, giving them a timeless look similar to the fashions that they were showing.

So add some color to your fall look, and you'll be sure to be a natural beauty.

Daily Hair Tip
In the past hair color for men was specifically designed to cover grey. For the 21st Century men want to use color for all sorts of reason, just like women do.
